Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

Hello Year 2!

We hope you have all had a good week and had lots of fun doing the activities off the homework mat. We have been super impressed with your amazing Florence Nightingale poems, your fantastic water artwork and your delicious looking sandwiches! Well done! 😊

This week we have a brand-new set of activities for you to get stuck in to. As one of your TEAMS assignments, we would love for you to create your own comic strip, titled ‘Life in Lockdown’. Head over to TEAMS for more information! For those of you who love drawing, we have found some great video tutorials for you to have a look at on YouTube on how to draw a range of different animals. We will be asking you to share these on our final zoom call this week, and we already can’t wait to see what you manage to create!

Fancy a bit of a dance? Have a go at learning a dance routine for ‘Under the Sea’, by watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH-7A3NVQbY. It reminds us of our school pantomime! Or, you could learn how to sign your name using British Sign Language here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkTeqA4kwUQ. You could even play a game of signing out words to your family, and they have to guess what you have spelt!

Be sure to check out this week's Picture News on the year 2 main page. This week's news is all about 'Why do we have statues?' and links in with the Black Lives Matter campaign.

Last week should have marked the start of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. They have been postponed until next year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a go at your own mini-Olympics at home! Check out this week’s mat to find out what to do.

We hope you have been enjoying reading Planet Omar Accidental Trouble Magnet so far. We know we have! Check out the stories tab for the next instalment!

Have a wonderful week and we can’t wait to see your work on TEAMS!
