Last week, Katy from the National Geological Survey came to visit and taught us all about rocks as part of our science topic. First, we learnt about the 3 different types of rock; igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary. We learnt how these rocks are formed and examples of these rocks. Then, we looked at a range of rocks and using their properties we had to match the rock up to it's name. We also looked at a map of Britain and found out about the different types of rock that can be found in our country. We all had a great time and a big thank-you to Katy for such an interesting morning.
