Heymann Primary & Nursery School

Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

Hi Year 2!

We hope you've all had a lovely weekend. Let's hope that sunshine comes back soon!

As ever, we love seeing you on our zoom meetings and receiving your fabulous photos. Keep sending them in to year2-teachers@heymann.notts.sch.uk Our zoom meetings this week will be a little bit different - we're going to be doing a quiz! You will get more information in your email invite.

We just wanted to remind you to watch the video below to find out more about an exciting football challenge that you could be in for a chance of winning! Could all entries (entries can be a skill or a shot) be emailed to steven.hill@heymann.notts.sch.uk please. Thank you to those people who have already taken part!

The last few chapters of Danny the Champion of the World are now on our stories tab so have a listen and we'll get thinking about what our next longer read can be.

Don't forget to check out this week's Picture News, which this week is all about the demonstrations that have been happening in America and the UK over the past couple of weeks. The document is on the Picture News page.

We hope that all those who were celebrating had a fantastic Eid during half term. At the bottom of this page you can listen to Zayd sharing a little bit of his experience - on the radio!

You have a music task on your home learning mat this week but in addition to this, check out this video of the makaton signs for How Far I'll Go. You already know the words to this one, so we wondered whether you could learn the actions too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZM4SXZGuME

You will notice the webpage has been tidied up a little. If you're looking for any of the resources from half term or before they will be on the 'Spring Term' page. We will continue to put phonics and maths resources on a separate page too.

We hope you all have a lovely week. Enjoy earning those stars!

Take care,

Miss Whitney,  Miss Anderson and Miss Handley
