Community cohesion week

Community fun with Japanese children!

.This week in year 3, we have been looking at cakes from different countries and cultures. We played a matching game and tried to guess where the different cakes were from. We used our reasoning skills and got most of them right. Then went on to use our georgraphy skills and try to find these countries on maps and atlas'. The whole year worked well as a group and correctly identified the countries and their cakes.

On Tuesday, year 3 were visited by the Japanese students. They taught us how to create our own origami and we got to try out some of the games they play in Japan. It was so much fun!!

We have lots of other things to look forward to this week, such as making our own mini Victoria Sponge cakes, creating top trump cards to inform people about healthy eating and creating bunting to represent ourselves.
