In our Talk For Write English unit, we are focussing on learning how to write a dual perspective diary. This is where you consider one event or experience but from two different viewpoints. As well as this we are looking at general writing skills when writing a diary. To help the children, we have used a model diary written from the perspective of one of the characters from the book Voices in the Park. The children will then write another diary entry from one of the other characters who had the same experience in the book. In this lesson, the children are finding all the diary writing tools in the model text and exploring how they are used and the effects they have. This is called Reading as a Writer in the Talk for Write sequence.
