On Thursday 7th March , 32 Year 6 children had the opportunity to spend the day at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. They had a very informative day , completing activities based around cricket and learning all about the history of the ground with the famous librarian : Peter Wynne-Thomas. He shared lots of stories with us about how cricket began and even told us about the Heymann family links to the cricket ground. We were lucky enough to have a tour of the ground and even walked down the steps where the England team enter the ground. The pitch was being prepared for the season so we spoke to the groundsman and Willem rang the famous bell that starts the games. After lunch we got energetic and mastered our skills with Graeme before playing a very fast game of racing cricket.
Everyone had a fantastic day and learnt a lot.
