On Thursday night, the girls football team ventured out in the cold and rain to play in the second round of the Girl's Cup. It was a touch game and we were playing on a bigger pitch than we were used to alongside some different rules. However, the girls did not lose their fighting spirit, Despite going in 1-0, Candleby lane managed to equals. This was repeated again until the game was 2-2. There was some fantastic team work and game plays and we had lots of shots on target but a might defence at the other end. Full time was played and it ended with a draw. We entered into 5 minutes of extra time and both teams were neck and neck. With a minute to go we had a successful shot on target which put us infront 3-2. The last minute was played with a strong Heymann defence to secure us the game! All the girls gave 100% throughout the whole game and didn't give up. We are now through to the quarter finals and will keep you posted on our progress.
