Heymann Primary & Nursery School

Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

Thanks for taking a look at our Spring 2 page (this will take us up to Easter time)

Please remember to return your child's "About Me" red book, so we can add some more work from school and give you some new ideas of activities you can try at home with them. We love looking at all the wonderful things you do with them at home.

Here are a few things we are doing this half-term and the skills we are working towards. Don't forget to look at the challenge sheet each week to find out more about the activities the children will be doing.

We are building on the children's spelling skills and are going to write short captions to go with stories, for information and also to describe pictures. The children are learning to write independently and persevere with their writing.

This half-term is all about improving our knowledge and skills about numbers and their composition. We are also building on the children's ability to record through pictures and other representations. We will spend some time investigating 3D shapes and repeating pattern.

We are now focussing on plants, India and Easter for the next few weeks.

This week we are going to do a science experiment - you could ask your child what the experiment was about and what we learned. It is all about slippery soap!!

They will also be planting some seeds this week - we hope they all grow.
