Welcome back to home learning after your well deserved break. We hope you have been able to enjoy some fun times together and found interesting and exciting ways to use your time. We have an exciting term ahead of us and look forward to seeing you all during zoom calls over the next few weeks and hopefully in school at some point in the near future.
The first 3 weeks of this half term we will be looking at the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, learning the story in detail and then making up our own versions and writing them. We love to hear all the creative ideas the children have as they change characters and events in a well known story to make it their own.
See our Spring 1 section for tips and Advice
This half-term, we will continue to use White Rose videos for maths and we will also produce our own phonics lesson videos (see our homework mats). We will have short maths and English activities in our live lessons so please attend these. We will always have a special friend session too which has a variety of activities including songs, stories and physical activities.
Our stories section will continue to be added to this half term with songs and stories. Also please make sure you are regularly using:
- Phonics Play Flash cards for tricky words and phase 2 and 3 phonics
-Bug Club for reading books
-Numbots for calculation skills
-YouTube for art (Art for Kids Hub) and exercise channels (Joe Wicks, Cosmic Yoga, Koo Koo Kangaroo)
-BBC are still sharing a variety of resources.
Numbots Maths Skills App and Website
Either head over to the App Store/Play Store and get the Numbots App or go to play.numbots.com to make your own robot and improve your maths skills.
Children will work through stages as they improve their calculation abilities and earn coins. Children get to name and customise their robot and look at other robots in their class.
It's a fun app that children can do daily.
The password and username is the same as Teams and Bug Club but doesn't use the @heymann.notts.sch.uk part.
