Heymann Primary & Nursery School

Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

Hello everyone!

This week marks the May half term holidays, so we want you to enjoy spending time with your families in the sunshine as much as possible! However, we thought you might still like a few activities to keep you busy. There is a mat attached with some softer activities for you to complete throughout the week. As well as those, don't forget it's still important to read every day, this can include listening to stories too.

We will not be holding Zoom meetings during half term. The first meeting back after half term will be a general catch up for you to tell your friends what fun activities you have been doing, you could share about a particular activity, or piece of work that you are proud of.

Don't forget to send us a photo or a little message to our year2-teachers@heymann.notts.sch.uk email address, we love to hear from you!

Check out the Picture News tab on the right hand side for a new topic for you to discuss with your family. This week's topic is Where to live.

As well as the P.E activities on the mat, why not have a go at something different and try out Drumba, it is a mixture between dancing and drumming! See the attached document for more information. You could also get moving by making an obstacle course in your house or garden, using household objects such as pillows to jump over and chairs to crawl beneath! Also watch the video below to find out more about an exciting football challenge that you could be in for a chance of winning! Could all entries (entries can be a skill or a shot) be emailed to steven.hill@heymann.notts.sch.uk please.

Are you enjoying learning a bit of sign langauge? If so, here is another video for you to have a go at learning some simple BSL greetings, try them out around your house! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR2Zb7TbiOA

If you fancy some more art activities, you could have a look at the Art for Kids Hub on Youtube, we know some of you have already been using this to help you draw some super pictures! https://www.youtube.com/user/ArtforKidsHub or practice drawing your family members faces using the instructions on the document below.

It is also a great time to help your parents and siblings with some cooking or baking and learn a skill or two!

Finally, if you enjoyed the RSPCA activity last week. There is another one for you, why not have a go at building a bird feeder. See document attached for tips on how to do this!

Stay safe and have a great week in the sunshine!
