Heymann Primary & Nursery School

Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

Hi 3P,

Firstly, I'd like yo say how proud I am of you for all your hard work last week with our first week of home learning. You are all working so hard and it's great seeing all your faces on our daily zooms.

This week I will be running live lessons via zoom so make sure you check the timetable to see which lessons I will be teaching and come to those zoom calls with paper and a pencil, except for our PE lesson where you will need trainers and a water bottle.

This week in English, we are focussing on sentence structure and what makes a good sentence. We will be covering a 5 tick sentence, recapping rainbow grammar, looking at conjunctions and different word classes. We are going to be seeing what you can remember from Year 2 so you are ready to learn some new grammar. On Friday, our English lesson will be based around Whole class reading and looking back over our dogs which help us with our reading skills. Also, this week I would like you try to and read atleast once a day to keep up your fluency.

In Maths, we are following on from last weeks place value and starting our Year 3 Maths no Problem lessons. As well as this, we will be testing your times table knowledge so make sure you are practising throughout the week. There is also a fun maths challenge around the house on Thursday which will give you a chance to hunt around the house for numbers.

Our topic this week has a real range of activities. There is time for you to carry on your Stone Age research and then we will be doing our first History lesson looking at Stone Age life. There will be a live PE lesson and then Friday qill bring us to our jigsaw lesson. The words and song for Together as One is uploaded on the website so don't forget to practice the words. Then on Thursday, we will have our first Environment lesson which would usually be taught by Ms Palmer.

There's lots of fun things on our timetable this week so make sure you're ready for an action packed week.

I look forward to seeing you on Monday at 9:30am.

Miss Penfold
