Heymann Primary & Nursery School

Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

Hello Everyone!

We hope you have all had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed getting stuck into some of the activities that we set to help keep you busy and learn new skills. We have loved receiving you emails and pictures of all of the things you have done. Don't forget to check the blog to see if you can spot some of the work you might have done, and to see what your friends have been up to! Send your photos to year2-teachers@heymann.notts.sch.uk and please let us know if you do not want your picture to be shared on the website.

This week, we are focusing on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk in English. There is a story attached for you to read, which can count towards the stars you earn for reading everyday too! You can also use the stories tab on the webpage to listen to a story read by one of the year 2 teachers!

We are also looking at 3D shapes and their properties in maths. The scavenger hunts have been super popular so far, so we have set another challenge for you to complete when you're out and about on your daily exercise.

We have had a lovely idea sent in from a parent and we would like to suggest it as an extra activity that you could complete over the week. It is an Age UK letter-writing campaign to support people who are in hospital at this time. The details are below (Letters for Lings Bar patients) and it would be great if you got the chance to write a letter and put a smile on somebody’s face.

For this week's singing assembly, have a go at singing 'Down in the Jungle'. Here's a link to help you remember the words: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zxcGKIMcOs .

Keep safe, and enjoy this week's activities! We wonder how many stars you will collect this week...

From,

Miss Anderson, Miss Handley and Miss Whitney
