Heymann Primary & Nursery School

Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

Week beginning 1.3.21

Hello everyone,

We hope that you are looking forward to our final week of Home Learning. We cannot wait to see you all back on the 8th!

Your Zoom lessons this week will be at the usual time of 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm and we look forward to seeing you there. This week, you will have two Teams Assignments to hand in.

Zoom timetable:

Monday - Guided reading

Tuesday - Jigsaw

Wednesday - Phonics

Thursday - World Book Day (please bring one of your favourite books to share with the class)

Friday - Phonics

World Book Day - Thursday 4th March

This Thursday we are celebrating World Book Day with the theme of Sharing Stories. Mike Payton, a professional storyteller, has recorded a special story just for the children at Heymann! You can find the video here. For more World Book Day activities you can look at the website here. We are looking forward to sharing some stories with you in our Zoom lesson on Thursday.

Back to school

As we will all be returning to school on Monday the 8th, we have added an extra column to the Home Learning Mat with a daily back to school activity to prepare the children for their return. There is also a link at the top of the mat for parents to look at the NHS Back to School Countdown document with lots of conversation and activity ideas to help the children prepare for their return to school. If the children have any questions or worries about coming back to school, we will make time on Thursday and Friday's Zoom meetings for them to talk to us about it.

Best wishes,

The Year 1 Team
