Heymann Primary & Nursery School

Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

Week beginning 11.1.21

We hope that you are all safe and well.

Please find the home learning timetable for this week below (11.1.21).

Calling all astronauts!

The National Space Centre in Leicester is doing a live question and answer session on Friday with Jeffrey Hoffman who is a real astronaut! He was part of the Mars 2020 space programme and has documented over 1000 hours in space! It will be recorded and published on their Facebook page. If any of you would like to ask him a question, please send them to this email address: jess.johnston@heymann.notts.sch.uk and they will be passed on to the Space Centre by Friday this week.

On the timetable, you will find some 'ongoing activities' at the top that you can complete throughout the week. Underneath are the daily activities that we would like you to complete. All of the resources for these activities can be found in the attachments to the right on this page. You will also see that we are scheduling daily Zoom check-ins which will be at 1:0O PM and the year group has been split into Group A and Group B. You can find the name of the teacher running your Zoom sessions for this week on the timetable and you will be sent the codes for the Zooms by the office. If you cannot attend the zoom sessions don't worry, the lesson presentations and worksheets can be on this page.

This week, we will be setting Teams assignments on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We are asking that you submit your work by 3:30 the following day. You will be alerted to your assignment at 8:00am each day via Microsoft Teams. The assignments will link to the Zoom lesson for that day but don’t worry if you cannot attend, there will be a PowerPoint or a video to explain the lesson too. If you are struggling to upload your work to Teams, check the video on the Home Learning page.

If you email us a picture of your child/their work we will see this as permission for their photograph to go onto the Blog on the school website unless specified otherwise.

We will be updating this page regularly so please keep checking for any additional information.

All the best,

The Year 1 Team x
