Well done for all of your hard work last week, it has been brilliant to see how well some of you are remembering the story of Handa’s Surprise and learning all about Africa! Your teachers are very proud of you.

Remember, if you would like to send us some pictures of your at-home activities then send them to year1-teachers@heymann.notts.sch.uk.

Please remember that if an activity is highlighted in blue on the home learning mat then it will be covered at school if your child is returning. You can review the activity at home, but the main learning input will be given at school and the activity will be completed in their school exercise book.

Well done everyone that has been keeping up with their reading at home, your teachers are so impressed with the number of children using the different reading resources we have sent you. You could have a go at the book scavenger hunt below to make your reading time more interesting!

This week, all children will be set two assignments on Microsoft Teams to complete and send back to the teachers. You will all have received an email with more information and your login information. A copy of this can also be found at the bottom of this page. The assignments are called ‘Your Handa Story’ and ‘Animal Science’. We are really excited to see your amazing work and give you some feedback! We also hope that you enjoy the videos below to help you with three of the activities on your home learning mat this week.
