Hi Year 1,

We hope that you enjoyed completing your home learning tasks last week. We have been very impressed with the work we have seen so far on Microsoft Teams so thank you if you have submitted your assignments! 

Remember, if the activity on the mat this week is blue then we will be covering it in school so you will not need to do it at home unless you would like to. You do not need to submit the activity on Teams if your child has completed it at school as they will receive verbal feedback during the lesson. 

Your work this week will be about a story called 'Handa's Hen'. Go on a new adventure with Handa and her friend Akeyo and watch the video of Miss Johnston to see what writing we are looking for from you this week. You can also watch the maths challenge video with Miss Cash to improve your systematic thinking and problem-solving skills with the Ladybird Challenge.

Teams Assignments

Your Teams assignments this week are highlighted on your mat. One is English 2 - Handa's Hen Writing and the other is Maths Symmetry Activity 2. For more instructions read the mat and the Teams assignment online.

P.E

This is not an activity on your mat but could be a fun way to keep active at home! This week Youth Sports Trust are holding a National School Sports Week and we would love for you all to join in.

Attached is a document with lots of different activities that you may find at our Sports Day. There are different categories like Athletics, Team sports, Adventure sports and more.
