Heymann Primary & Nursery School

Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

home learning week 6 - 11.5.20

Hello year 1,

Your teachers are still really missing you but we have been amazed by the fantastic work that we have seen from you. We are all so proud of how hard you have been working and you should be proud of yourselves too! Remember, you can send us your pictures at year1-teachers@heymann.notts.sch.uk.

Did you enjoy your activities last week? How many stars did you collect? What was your favourite activity?

This week, you have a range of activities all about VE day, which was last Friday, as well as some more work on healthy eating and where your food comes from. How many new facts have you learned about where your food comes from so far?

Your teachers are super impressed with the number of children that have used Scholastic Reading Pro so far and how many of you have been choosing lots of exciting books from their library to read. Keep up the good work!

Heymann has signed the school up for a new website called 'Chesskid' which is suitable for children from year 1-year 6. It is a website that has lots of games and puzzles, as well as the chance to play virtual games of chess in a safe and secure online environment. All you need to do is click on the link below and create a login for your child. This is not an exercise on your home learning mat, but it might be something your child is interested in giving a go to develop some new problem-solving skills.

If you cannot get the White Rose worksheets from the website, we have also put them on this page for you to access.
