Heymann Primary & Nursery School

Inspiring and motivating our children
to be the best they can be

home working for self-isolating children

Hello Children!

We are sorry that we are not seeing you all in school on Monday. There is only one day left though and you will be joining your classmates on Tuesday – we can’t wait to see you back in school!

The home learning for today's English, science and maths is available by clicking the tabs along the right-hand side of the page. The home learning for Maths is available below. As was the case during lockdown, all power point files have been uploaded as PDFs as well, just in case the power point will not work on the device you are using.

Whole Class Reading

Please read through the power point (or the PDF file) and try to learn the vocabulary words. These will be coming up in our reading of Stone Fox during the next two weeks. You can even come up with actions like we do at school to help you remember the words.

English

During today’s English lesson, we would like you to learn about similes and adjectives. Remember, we also talked about using imagery, which is using our senses (what we could see, taste, feel, smell, and hear) to help with our description. Read the power point and create a descriptive sentence for each of the pictures (5 sentences in total) and try to include powerful adjectives and interesting similes. Challenge: Can you include imagery in your sentences?

Maths

Today we would like you to complete the Oak Academy maths lesson on multiplication and division. The lesson is available by clicking here.

Science

We are continuing with our topic of animal classification. Read the power point, then hunt for invertebrates around your home and garden or yard to find, identify, and name them using your activity sheet (or you can create your own activity sheet). Remember we learnt about classification keys last week - use the invertebrates classification key to help you to identify the animals you find.

We look forward to seeing you all back in school tomorrow!

Take care,

Mr Murray, Miss Goswami, Mrs Jenkins & Mrs Reed.
