Monday 11th May 2020
Thank you to all of those who joined our class zoom calls last week. We loved seeing all of your faces! As a reminder, 6T’s call is at 1pm on Tuesday, 6L’s call is at 6pm on Tuesday and 6P’s call is at 10am on Friday. Please join us this week where we will aim to discuss either your Holocaust butterfly work or one of the Disney related tasks on this weeks mat.
There are some really great tasks this week so we are looking forward to seeing the work that you produce and hopefully you will keep sending us a photo for the Heymann blog to firstname.lastname@example.org
I know some of you have tried this but if you haven’t yet why not give it a go! We have also secured a free 3 month membership to a chess puzzle and games website. This looks great. You can complete puzzles; mini games and you don’t need to have played chess before to enjoy this one. Once you are logged in you can also play against each other. All you have to do is create a free account here https://www.chesskid.com/register/kid/group/PT9T7N
The 'Picture News' focus this week is VE day and is attached below. If you did this last week you will know that this is a current News story with an image and a question for you and your children to read, listen, share and discuss at home. The questions encourage children to discuss and form their own opinions.
If you would like to comment on any of the maths this week please email us to our year 6 address and let us know if you found any areas particularly difficult or would like us to extend with more learning ideas in the following week.
We hope you are enjoying listening to ‘Wonder’. Two new chapters will continue to be uploaded every day. Miss Bussey and Ms Nash are certainly enjoying reading it for you!
Take care year 6
