Hello for the last time Year 5!
Can you believe it is the last week of term already?
Well done to all of you who have worked really hard at home over the last term and a bit. Thank you for sending us photos of what you have been getting up to and for completing your teams assignments. Some great progress has been made as a result of your efforts.
There will be no teams assignments this week. However, there are still plenty of activities to complete on the mat this week. Some of the tasks - particularly the maths and spellings - have been designed to give you something to keep working away at over the 5 week summer break. Also, please find below some suggested reading for the summer holidays.
If you still haven't sent your Dear New Teacher letter to us, then it is not too late. Please send to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make sure the correct Year 6 teacher receives it.
Enjoy your summer break and we look forward to seeing you again in September,
Mrs Johnson, Mrs Reed and Mrs Mackdermott x x x
Keep Reading Over the Summer
If you do nothing else school work wise, please keep reading! Please see the list of recommended books in the attachment below for inspiration. You may also like to try the Book Trust's Bookfinder in order to find books just right for you. Also, don't forget the libraries! These are open again and a great place to get access to books, either paper copy, ebooks or audio books. As usual, they are running a Summer Reading Challenge which is designed to encourage you to keep reading throughout the Summer. This year due to the disruption caused by COVID-19, the 2020 challenge will be in an all-new, all-digital format. Click here to visit the website, sign up and get involved.
