Things got very messy in Year 4 this week! To complete our digestive system learning, we recreated the journey that food takes through the body. Biscuits and bananas became our food, a bag became the mouth, and we crushed everything together to show the job of our teeth. After adding our ‘saliva’ and ‘stomach acid’, the mixture travelled into our tights ‘intestines’, where we explored how nutrients are absorbed. Finally, it was time for the waste to leave the body! Year 4 loved seeing the digestive process come to life.
