This week in Reception, we have continued our learning about farm animals and have had lots of fun exploring through play. The children enjoyed experimenting in the water tray, rescuing farm animals trapped in ice and creating a home and enclosure for our pig. We then moved on to learning the story of The Three Little Pigs, using puppets to help us retell the tale and even write sentences about what the pig is doing. The children were also very creative, making one of the pigs’ houses and working together outside to build their own houses using crates and planks. We tried hard to make them strong so the wolf couldn’t blow them down!
