World Book Day Fun in Nursery
We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day in nursery and the children were full of excitement from start to finish!
We all went down to the hall together for a big costume parade, and it was amazing to see the children dressed up as their favourite characters. There were lots of smiles, cheers and proud moments as everyone showed off their costumes. While we were together, we shared stories, books and poems, enjoying listening to familiar favourites and new tales too.
Back in class, we spent time talking about how we were dressed up and what our costumes were. The children loved telling their friends who they had come as and why. These conversations led to lots of lovely language and confidence as everyone had a chance to be heard.
The fun didn’t stop there – the children also enjoyed playing in our dressing‑up clothes, using their imaginations to act out stories and make up their own. It was fantastic to see them exploring different roles and retelling stories through play.
World Book Day was a joyful celebration of books, stories and imagination, and the children had a brilliant time sharing their love of reading with their friends.
