This week in Reception, we have been enjoying Invention Week as part of our Talk for Writing learning! The children have been busy inventing their own 5 sentence stories through lots of oral retelling and storytelling activities. We have used a range of resources on the carpet to help us create and act out our stories, and the children have loved drawing their own story maps to help them remember and retell their ideas. We have been inspired by our recent theme minibeasts, and the children have had great fun making up imaginative stories about ladybirds, caterpillars, spiders and other tiny creatures! It has been great to see the children growing in confidence as storytellers and using their creativity to invent new adventures.
