At our school, we are proud to have a team of dedicated Year 6 Peer Mentors who play a key role in supporting the emotional wellbeing of their peers. These pupils are trained to listen, offer support, and help create a safe and caring environment for everyone. They are on a daily rota and are available during break and lunchtime to be a friendly, approachable presence for anyone who may need a chat or a bit of encouragement.

We believe in the power of pupil voice, and our Peer Mentors have recently had the exciting opportunity to share their experiences beyond our school. They took part in a showcase event with Mental Health Leads from across Nottinghamshire, where they spoke about the positive impact Peer Mentors have had within our school community.

Their involvement is a wonderful example of how young people can lead with empathy, make a difference, and inspire others.
